I am the oldest of four children. I have triplet siblings, two boys and a girl. My mother decided on my name when reading of a town in the Bible called Bethany, near the town of Jerusalem that Jesus was traveling through. This name is of Hebrew origin and is said to mean “house of figs.” It is also a name given to girls in honor of Mary of Bethany. My last name Reynolds comes from German decent and means “ruler’s adviser.” According to How Many of Me, there are 60,140 people with the first name Bethany and it is the 709th most popular name. There are 223,620 people with the last name Reynolds and it is said to be the 106th most popular last name. In the United States there are 44 people with the name Bethany Reynolds. While I love my name, like the girl from Notebook Know How, by Aimee Buckman, I think my name leaves out that I am a lover of family, beach, children, and volleyball. To me my name also means friend, dedication, compassion, and love.
